How To Turn The Caravan On And Off

Caravan With Handle Switch

In this model, you will find a handle like picture below near bed base

Turn the Caravan OFF (Reverse the steps to turn on)

  1. Unplug any external power like shore power or generator or towing charge
    • System will wake up itself to take charges from towing vehicle, shore power and generator, it will not allow you to turn the system off
  2. Turn the solar isolator off (it is located down front of the bed, in the fuse hatch )
    • System will wake up itself to take solar charge if the isolator is on, it will not allow you to turn the system off
  3. Turn the main switch as shown above to OFF position to isolate the battery, no power will go into the battery or out of the battery
    • If you turn the handle to the “off” position while the solar power is on, or while the van is plugged into shore power or the tow vehicle, the system will activate and remain on. However, it will display alerts and errors because the battery is not receiving any charge.

Caravan With Green Button

This model you will find the button near the door step (You may find A7 Screen on your van, but as long as you have this green button follow this model)

Turn the Caravan OFF (Reverse the steps to turn on)

  1. Unplug any external power like shore power or generator or towing charge connected
    • System will wake up itself to take charges from towing vehicle, shore power and generator, it will not allow you to turn the system off
  2. Turn the solar off (it is located down front of the bed, in the fuse hatch Or Switch solar “awaken” function off from the A7 Screen if you have one installed )
    • System will wake up itself to take solar charge if the isolator is on Or Switch solar “awaken” function on, it will not allow you to turn the system off
  3. Press and hold the push button near the door step for 5 seconds until control panel off

Caravan With A7 Screen

This section is for caravan that has no green button near door step, having screen only.

Turn the Caravan OFF (Reverse the steps to turn on)

  1. Unplug any external power like shore power or generator or towing charge connected
    • System will wake up itself to take charges from towing vehicle, shore power and generator, it will not allow you to turn the system off
  2. Turn the solar off (Switch solar “awaken” function off from the A7 Screen)
    • System will wake up itself to take solar charge if the isolator is on, it will not allow you to turn the system off
  3. Press and hold the button on the edge of right hand side of screen for 10 seconds until control panel off
  4. * Early model with starter battery*, To prevent the starter battery from running out of power and the system from being unable to turn on, it is important to turn off the Master switch inside the tunnel boot.

Q&A

  1. Why I can’t turn the system off or find out it turn on by it self?
    • A: The System will wakeup automatically when any one of the following charging sources are vailaiable
      • Shore power/Generator – When you plug the shore power into the van, it will turn on automatically to take the charge.
      • Solar – When the van gets charge from the solar panels, it will turn on automatically.
      • Towing -When the van is getting charge from towing vehicle, it will turn on automatically.
  2. I don’t want the van turn on automatically to take charge, I wan to store the caravan
    • A: Follow the “How To Turn The Caravan On And Off” as mentioned above to turn off the caravan completely.
