Overview

Your Harvok caravan is equipped with the SEAFLO 12V water pump, delivering a maximum flow rate of 11.3L/min (3.0 GPM). This pump supplies water to your taps, shower, and appliances from the onboard water tanks. It operates automatically and activates when water flow is detected.

Adjusting Water Pump Pressure (General Instructions)

Most RV water pumps, including brands like Flojet and Shurflo, come with an adjustable pressure switch. If your water pump experiences frequent pulsing or inconsistent pressure, adjustment may help:

  1. Locate the pressure switch – found on the end of the pump.
  2. Remove the cover plate to access the adjustment screw.
  3. Adjust pressure cutoff:
    • Turn clockwise to increase cutoff pressure (reduce pulsing).
    • Turn counter-clockwise to decrease cutoff pressure.

This adjustment does not change the flow rate — only the pressure at which the pump stops.

  1. Test the system:
    • Turn on a tap until steady flow is achieved.
    • Turn the tap off. The pump should stop within ~10 seconds.

Adjusting SEAFLO Pump Pressure (Specific Instructions)

  1. Locate the adjustment screw on the pump head (hex/Allen type).
  2. Turn on a tap to start water flow and build pressure.
  3. Adjust the screw:
    • Clockwise: Increases pressure (reduces pulsing).
    • Counter-clockwise: Lowers pressure if the pump doesn’t stop.
  4. Turn off the tap and test. The pump should shut off shortly after.

Troubleshooting Pulsing Issues

Common causes of water pump pulsing:

  • Pressure misadjustment – The default pressure setting may not suit your plumbing setup.
  • Leaks in the system – Check all fittings, filters, and joints.
  • Low water tank – If the tank is nearly empty, the pump will pulse due to lack of pressure.

DIY Pump Replacement

Replacing the SEAFLO pump is a suitable DIY task for most caravan owners. Key steps include:

  • Shut off water and power to the pump.
  • Disconnect inlet and outlet hoses.
  • Remove mounting screws and replace the pump.
  • Reconnect hoses and test for leaks.
  • Turn power back on and test pressure and flow.
