Hi,
I own a powerbank with the later MCK display and have recently notice the solar intake is much lower than I’d expect. Lately the intake has ranged well below 1 kWh per day, whereas in summer I was yielding 3+ kWh per day consistently.
Over the last few days I have noticed 0 kw solar intake on the MCK despite full sun and no cloud or shade coverage so I performed a full reset of the system which triggered a slight change to 0.06 kw solar intake. The solar yield showing on the inverter indicated 0 kWh for the first day, 0.4 kWh for the 2nd day after the reset and now today again it is showing 0 kw solar intake on the MCK and 0 kWh yield for today. I cleaned the solar panels this morning and noticed there appears to be some degradation of the panels after approx. 8 months since purchasing.
Can anyone please advise whether there are any additional tests or resets I should perform? Or has anyone else had issues with their solar panels failing?
Tim
Hi, Tim
Thanks for sharing the picture of data, here is a solar diagnose chart for your power bank model
On sunny day
1. Solar array voltage – Above 80V (Good, no solar panels related issues), below (Check each panel individually to find which panel is under performance, each panel on yor van is Voc 10V)
2. LCD monitor on the inverter itself . Using up and own button go to “solar voltage” – Similar voltage like solar array voltage on the roof ( Good, the solar cable from roof to inverter is fine), significant different voltage drop (the cable from the solar panel going into the inverter need to be checked)
3. LEDs lights on the inverter. The “Solar” LED should lit up when the solar voltage above 65V. The MPPT module is faulty If is not on while the solar voltage above 65V
Let us know if it helps
