Your Harvok caravan comes pre-installed with rooftop solar panels and a Victron SmartSolar MPPT charger, which automatically converts solar energy into usable battery power.
How It Works
- Automatic Charging: As long as the solar isolator is turned on, the system will begin charging the battery automatically whenever sunlight is available.
- No Manual Operation Required: There is no need to press buttons or configure anything during normal use. The MPPT charger continuously optimizes charging to get the most from your panels, even in partial sunlight.
Key Features of the Victron SmartSolar MPPT
- Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT): This technology increases charging efficiency, especially during cloudy conditions or when panel shading occurs.
- Overcharge Protection: The charger will never overcharge your lithium battery. It intelligently tapers off as the battery reaches full capacity.
- Bluetooth Monitoring: You can optionally use the VictronConnect app to view solar input and battery status in real time (requires Bluetooth-enabled MPPT model).
- Night Mode: Charging stops automatically at night, and the system enters a low-power standby mode.
Important Notes
- Solar Isolator Must Be On: If the isolator (located under bed) is turned off, no charging will occur even if sunlight is present.
- Cannot Charge a Dead Battery Alone: If the battery is completely flat, solar alone may not be able to “wake” the system. Use shore power or generator to reactivate.
