Recommended Service Schedule

Regular servicing is essential for ensuring the safety, reliability, and long-term performance of your Harvok® caravan. Below is the recommended service schedule and the checklist of items to be inspected at each interval.


Service Time Intervals

  • 1,000 km / 3 months – Initial service after early use
  • 10,000 km / 1 year
  • 20,000 km / 2 years
  • 30,000 km / 3 years
  • Then every 10,000 km or every 12 months, whichever comes first

Essential Checks at Each Service

Chassis & Running Gear

  • Inspect chassis for cracks or signs of structural damage.
  • Check suspension components (springs, shock absorbers, bushes). Retorque bolts if required.
  • Lubricate grease points in the suspension system.
  • Check and adjust wheel alignment.
  • Inspect braking system (brake pads, drums, and cables). Replace or adjust as needed.
  • Inspect tyre condition (tread depth, sidewall damage) and ensure correct pressure. Rotate and balance if necessary.
  • Inspect and lubricate jockey wheel and corner stabilizers.

Electrical System

  • Test caravan battery and charging system for correct voltage and operation.
  • Inspect all wiring, switches, sockets, and fuses for damage or loose connections.
  • Test electrical control panel (including circuit breakers).
  • Check solar input and inverter/charger function (if applicable).

Water System

  • Inspect and test the water pump for pressure and leaks.
  • Check all pipes, connections, and taps for leaks.
  • Clean or replace water filters as needed.
  • Sanitize freshwater tank.
  • Test the hot water system and its safety valves.

Appliances & Equipment

  • Test operation of refrigerator, air conditioner, microwave, and heater.
  • Clean air vents and extractor fans.
  • Inspect gas appliance flue outlets and chimneys.
  • Test TV, speakers, and other entertainment equipment.
  • Inspect motorized components like awnings and entry steps.

Bodywork & Seals

  • Inspect body panels for damage or deterioration.
  • Check door, roof, and window seals for cracks or gaps.
  • Lubricate locks, hinges, and handles.
  • Inspect and clean awnings or shades. Confirm correct tension.

Safety Checks

  • Test smoke alarms, CO detectors, and replace batteries if needed.
  • Confirm function of the break-away system, electric brakes, and emergency brakes.
  • Inspect the 12-pin plug, Anderson plug, external lights, and breakaway battery.
  • Check all wheels for torque (recommended: 140 Nm).
